Another great recipe from my friend Nancy Webb!! I would like to move in to her house just because of all the wonderful dishes she creates. This is her recipe for Scalloped Potatoes and it’s simple, full of flavor, and a great home cooked meal!! My family will devour this whole pan in one night!!
SCALLOPED POTATOES-Pre-heat oven 375°
Butter a 2 quart casserole
Left-over baked ham or ham slice. *
About 2 pounds potatoes (4 to 5 large size) Scrub well. I use white or red-sometimes. Peel and slice thin.
2 large onions sliced thin.
Flour
Salt and pepper
Butter
Garlic powder
Milk or 1/2 and 1/2. My husband prefers milk. 1 ½ to 2 cups.
Heat ham to warm through.
One layer of potatoes, ham and onions.
Sprinkle with flour, salt pepper and garlic powder-Amount is your preference.
Continue to layer as above till all ingredients in casserole.
Dot with butter pats.
Pour milk or half and half over top.
Cover with lid or foil.
Bake about an hour, remove cover and bake another 15-20 minutes till brown and potatoes cooked through.
Let set 10 minutes or so before serving…it will be HOT
In case of any bubble over I always set casserole on rimmed baking sheet.
* Use same recipe with browned pork chops
ENJOY
They look so tasty!
